William Young

Obituary of William Stanley Young

William Stanley Young of Innisfil, Ontario passed away at age 78 on Saturday May 6th, 2017 at Southlake Hospital, Newmarket.  He courageously fought, with dignity, many health issues over the past several years, but sadly succumbed to a last battle with cancer.

Bill (William) spent most of his childhood living in rural Ontario on a farm. He had loved and thrived in the outdoors and had a passion for fishing and hunting which he later shared with his children, specifically his sons and grandsons. Bill was a hardworking man and providing for his family was a priority.  Although not outwardly expressive, he was a very caring, compassionate man who loved his family and friends deeply.  He would do anything for those people closest to him and often considered his own needs last.  He had a sense of humour that would surface suddenly and have everyone in stitches. Bill will be deeply and sadly missed by those who loved and cherished him.

Bill, a loving Father and friend of five children and their spouses, Bill Young Jr, Janice (Young) Wall and deceased spouse Rick Wall, Carolyn (Young) Sedgewick, Valerie (Young) and Ted Van Kuik, Gary and Paula (Paskow) Young. He was a very proud and loving Grandfather of Joshua and Meaghan Van Kuik, Devon Sedgewick and Hayley and Tanner Young. Bill was pre-deceased by parents David & Willma (Church) Young and sister Nancy (Young) Bright. He is survived by his brother George Young.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 27th from 1 to 5pm at Belcroft Estates & Event Centre (in the Tent), 2539 14th Line, Gilford, ON L0L 1R0  (905) 775-3498. We welcome you to join us as we celebrate Bill’s life by sharing memories.

I Am Always With You

When I am gone, release me, let me go.

I have so many things to see and do,

You mustn't tie yourself to me with too many tears,

But be thankful we had so many good years.

I gave you my love, and you can only guess

How much you've given me in happiness.

I thank you for the love that you have shown,

But now it is time I traveled on alone.

So grieve for me a while, if grieve you must

Then let your grief be comforted by trust

That it is only for a while that we must part,

So treasure the memories within your heart.

I won't be far away for life goes on.

And if you need me, call and I will come.

Though you can't see or touch me, I will be near

And if you listen with your heart, you'll hear

All my love around you soft and clear

And then, when you come this way alone,

I'll greet you with a smile and a "Welcome Home".
