J has been a part of my whole life - I grew up next to her raspberry bushes and tomato plants. It has been incredibly difficult to imagine a world without her in it. She taught me the value of a good bottle of wine, an entertaining story, and the best words to win a game of Scrabble. J was like an Aunt to me and my sister, and was there to help and support our family through some of the toughest times. I have always wanted to travel the world like J, and hopefully one day I will get to do so and carry her adventurous spirit with me.

I have only know J for the last 10 years but she is somebody who has left a lasting impression. We shared a love of books and exchanged many plus we also enjoyed fun nights of game play and wine. She enriched our lives with her wisdom, wit and joie de vivre. I know that her extended family of friends will miss her greatly. Gone too soon but will not be forgotten.

I don't remember a time in my life when J wasn't around. As our next door neighbour, she was always around with a feiendly hello over the fence or from the porch (except when she was off traveling). I will cherish the many good memories of picking cherries from the tree in her backyard, sneaking a raspberry from the back pach, or the times she would come over to spend an evening on the porch or watching a movie with my family. She was so caring and generous, often helping to look after me when my mom was away; she taught me how to knit, one of my favourite hobbies, and stepped in to help out our family whenever we needed it. I was always fascinated by the stories she would tell, she truly lived such a full life. I will miss her friendship with my mom and our Christmas dinner table will feel emptier without her there. Here's to a remarkable woman.

Jeanette showed me a lot of things over the years. She was always someone to turn to. Forever. Babysitting me in a tree at 8 years old to to telling me I’m not too old for wrestling at 60. I will feel like calling to hear her voice for years.

J and I were neighbours and then friends for too many years to count. We relied on each other for help with tasks big and small. We walked, talked, laughed, and drank good wine together often. I will miss her stories, intelligence, humour, and adventurous spirit. I am thankful for the many years we shared a fence. Big hugs to all who knew and appreciated the person that was “J.” Krys
