May I pay my respect to her knowing what she is faced with and persistently fight for a just course is both admirable and inspirational. Translate that to one’s life philosophy, it is a firm belief in one’s course and goal, and persistent progress against all odds, is admirable and inspirational!
I met Ing at the local playground years ago. I told her about my difficulties trying to get a power wheelchair for my son, Aidan. I couldn't get approval through our health care system for a power chair. I was told he wouldn't be able to drive it -- it would be too dangerous, etc. At the time I ran into Ing, I have to admit I was close to giving up. Ing told me about her own positive experience getting a power wheelchair at age 12 and how it improved her life. She encouraged me to stay strong and keep going despite the road blocks. My son did finally get a prescription for a power wheelchair. He was able to drive it just fine. He couldn't talk or communicate using language but he was now able to go to things he was interested in and touch them if he wanted. I still remember that conversation and how pivotal it was to improving my son's life. Both his ability to move and communicate his interests.
