Obituary of Predrag "Fred" Isakov

Predrag “Fred” Isakov was born in Belgrade, Serbia, and passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, May 4th, 2025, in Toronto, Canada. He was 66 years old.

Fred was a devoted husband to his beloved wife Jelica, with whom he shared 42 years of marriage. Together, they built a life rooted in love, loyalty, and quiet strength. He was the proud father of two sons, Marco and Boris, the deeply cherished grandfather of Sofie and Stefan, and was excited to welcome his third grandchild this summer.

Having immigrated from Serbia, Fred built a new life in Canada with his family—laying down roots through hard work, resilience, and unwavering optimism. He embraced his new home while carrying the strength of his heritage, and worked tirelessly to give his children opportunities he never took for granted.

Fred was a structural engineer by profession and carried immense pride in his work. Over the course of his career, he not only contributed to the built environment but also acted as a mentor and guide to many young engineersa profession his youngest son carries forward. He was respected not only for his technical knowledge and dedication but for the generous spirit with which he supported others.

A man of great intellect and relentless work ethic, Fred balanced his professional life with a deep devotion to his family. He loved classic cars—especially Ford Mustangs—and found joy in the open roads of Florida and peaceful weekends boating at the family cottage in Lagoon City.

Fred will be remembered as an incredibly smart, kind, and humble man. He had a way of making everyone feel welcome and valued, always ready to lend a hand—or the shirt off his back—without hesitation. His warmth and quiet generosity left a mark on everyone who knew him.

More than anything, Fred was proud of the family he built. His sons were his pride, and his wife Jelica was his everything. The love and respect he had for her was the foundation of his life.

He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and quiet greatness. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.  Lagano.
