Born September 19, 1946
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William Jeffrey (Jeff) Weideman, who was born on September 19, 1946, and left us peacefully on July 28, 2025, after a long struggle with multiple strokes and a heart attack.
Jeff was predeceased by his beloved wife, Kathleen Dunn, and is survived by his devoted partner and dear friend, Carol Alkerton. He was also predeceased by his parents, Henry and Audrey Weideman (Payne).
He leaves behind his daughter, Vanessa Weideman Jenner (Drew), his brother, Frederick John Weideman (Juel Chouinard), his sisters, Susan Bonnell (James Bonnell) and Gail MacDonald (predeceased by Larry Arnold MacDonald). Jeff will be sadly missed by his granddaughter, Genevieve Weideman (aka Sprite Smith), and many nieces and nephews who cherished him deeply.
Born in Toronto, Jeff spent his early years in Newfoundland, his mother’s home province. A sailor at heart, he enjoyed many types of pleasure craft throughout his life, with his last being a Grand Banks Trawler named ‘Our Dream,’ which he loved dearly.
An innovative and technically savvy individual, Jeff excelled in various endeavors, whether mechanical, construction, or repairs. He embraced adventure and spent nine years in Brunei with his wife Kathleen, where he taught an electrical technician course at the Royal College of Brunei.
Jeff was known for his fun-loving spirit and always greeted others with a smile, often accompanied by his beloved lapdog, Stewart. His culinary magic created many fond memories for all who knew him.
