Obituary of Dwayne Trudel

Robert "Dwayne" Trudel
April 17, 1963 – August 25, 2025

Robert Dwayne Trudel, aged 62, of Niagara Falls, Ontario, passed away suddenly on Monday August 25, 2025.

Born on April 17, 1963, in the Niagara Region, Dwayne lived a full and passionate life. Raised by his devoted mother, Marjorie Trudel, alongside his brothers Doug and Daryl, Dwayne developed a deep appreciation for nature and a strong sense of resilience. His early years were marked by adventure and intensity—living fully, sometimes recklessly, but always with heart.

Dwayne's pursuit of success led him westward, where he worked on the oil rigs. It was during this time that he welcomed his son, RJ, who tragically passed away in infancy—a loss that remained close to Dwayne’s heart throughout his life.

Returning to Ontario, Dwayne continued his trade as a welder and reconnected with his roots and family. It was during this time that his daughter, Cassandra, was born. She became his anchor, grounding him in love, purpose, and the desire to build a better life. He helped raise her with care and intention, passing on his love for nature and the importance of family.

A man of detail and memory, Dwayne loved collecting items from the past—whether it was antique glass bottles found near the Cole residence in Stevensville or unique coins that caught his eye. His collection reflected his thoughtful and observant nature.

Dwayne faced lifelong health challenges with courage and perseverance. He continually worked toward healing and growth.

In his later years, Dwayne found renewed strength and peace through his faith. He became an active and dedicated member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, offering his time, compassion, and energy to those in need through the church’s outreach programs. His generosity was unwavering—he would give his last toonie to help someone less fortunate. Dwayne was baptized in recent years, and his church community will deeply miss his kind presence, especially on Wednesdays.

He is lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his daughter Cassandra Trudel (Kaleb Daly) and grandson Kai Daly; his brothers, Doug Trudel and Daryl Trudel; his sister, Beth Kouri (Peter);  uncle, Don Cole (Krim Cole); cousins, Stacey (Derek), Sherry (Eddy), and Leah (Sean); and nephews, Darryl Trudel and Philip Schultz.

Dwayne’s journey was not always easy, but it was always his own. He leaves behind a legacy of strength, love, and a deep care for others.

A Celebration of Life for Dwayne will be held in November, with the exact date to be determined. The family would love to see everyone there to share memories and honour Dwayne’s life.

Please share a memory, photo or sentiment of his life here at his memorial legacy page.
