Obituary of Jerzy Andrzej Majkutewicz
Jerzy Majkutewicz passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025. He was born on November 7th 1958, in Dubienka, Poland, to Maria and Mieczyslaw Majkutewicz. He was a proud resident of Chelm, where he worked as a bus driver for the local transportation office.
He met and married Helena in Chelm and they share a daughter Kasia. Jerzy immigrated to Canada in the 1990’s where he worked as a CNC operator. Jerzy has always loved animals. He had many pets in his life time from chickens to rabbits to fish to parrots, but his favourite was his cat Tula who would demand treats each time he would get home.
Jerzy was also a great nature lover and enjoyed exploring the beauty of Ontario. You could always find him lounging outside his home doing crosswords in the tranquility of nature. He would take breaks from doing his crosswords to feed treats to the neighbour's cat. He is survived by his wife, (Helena), younger sister (Ewa); and many nieces, and nephews.
Jerzy's Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at 9:30a.m. at St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish (14260 Cawthra Rd, Mississauga, ON L4Z 1V8).
Following the funeral a reception will be held beginning at 11am next door at St John ll Polish Cultural Centre in the Club room.
Cremation will follow with the Rite of Committal at St. John's Dixie Cemetery on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at 1:30pm. Guests may park in the large lot adjacent to the church and proceed through the cemetery gates to the north to the building ahead - using the west entry under the carport to meet in the lobby.
