Damien and I were so saddened to hear about the loss of Glen. We had been away over the summer and expected to see his big smile and chatty self at the coffee shop this morning. We always looked forward to our morning chats about the neighbourhood, daily events, and of course rugby! Even though we only saw him for 10-20 minutes a day, it felt like he was a dear friend that we had known forever. Glen was always so bright and welcoming, and we will truly miss seeing him in the mornings.
With love,
Jayme, Damien, and our dachshund Peanut Butter.

Glen, Helen Skwarok and Lynn Begley in 1964 at Danforth Tech. Then 40 years on. Check the gym suits we used to wear. We have had so many laughs over the years. Miss you Glen

I’m so sorry for your loss. I so enjoyed chatting with Glen at the pool. He was always so friendly, funny, and encouraging. I could tell how much he loved swimming. I am lucky to have met him and I send my heartfelt condolences.

I was saddened to hear of the death of my summer swimming friend, Glen. We met at the Woodbine pool (Donald Summerville) a few years ago. Whenever I saw Glen coming into the pool I knew I would have a smile, a joke and a laugh waiting for me. Always great conversations. Very sorry for your loss.

Dear Lynne, Erin and Daniel,
Please accept our sincere and heartfelt condolences on the sudden passing of your husband and father. Such a shock for all of you and for all who knew and loved him.
Our family met Glen through the Singletons....way back in the '60's. Glen was consistently kind, helpful and funny....always with a good story or a joke and fun to be around.
We wish you peace and comfort in the days ahead. He will never be forgotten.
Sincerely,
Janet Adamson

I am Glen’s cousin on the Hamilton side but 15 years his junior. I hardly knew him as a youth but as we grew older our age difference mattered less and we shared a lot of stories and laughs at the few family events that we were both at. When I was working near city hall many years ago, we managed to meet up to play squash quite a bit. At that time Glen would have been around 60 years old and was not only willing to play each time I asked, but was also a very good player. We talked about his other sports and outdoor activities, but the direct experience of his squash skill at 60ish was a true inspiration to me to “be like Glen”.
Lynne, Daniel and Erin: my deepest sympathy for your loss. We will all miss him.

Glen was my friend and neighbour. He always had a story and a kind word. He used to walk my dog Maddy and took her to the Vet when I couldn’t. He rescued me from a dangerous situation with one phone call. Then he and other neighbours had the bad neighbour removed from our street Our children were the same age and have so many great memories of the Bingham Bash when it first started over 25 years ago. Lynne Erin and Daniel were lucky to have had a husband and father of Glen. He will be sadly missed by all the people pets loved ones and the Beaches Community.

Uncle Glen was so intentionally random with his unexpected visits, always appearing when you never expected it, often with a ridiculous joke or amusing story. The first year my friends and I walked in the Weekend to End Breast Cancer he was waiting outside the starting gates early in the morning, in a sea of thousands, to cheer me on, in the rain. I loved the irony of the inappropriate jokes he would email me, at my job….in HR. ❤️

My uncle Glen.
An unbelievable loss for all of us.
He always took such an interest in my nursing career, especially once I had graduated and started working at SickKids. He told me that he and his sister were the first babies in the first ever incubator at the hospital - a fact I have to believe is true as we really no have no evidence otherwise.
He knew more about our local flora and fauna than anyone I had ever met. In fact, I recall he was called upon by our local city councillor to share his expertise of bird gonads once, a story he shared many times around the Thanksgiving table.
We went on so, so many hikes together during the pandemic. One particular hike I will always carry with me is when he led us to the abandoned home in the Rouge (Valhalla), which for me, included scrambling up the side of a muddy hill while 13 weeks pregnant. Woof.
If you got to go on one of these hikes, you were being led by an expert. Someone who genuinely, truly, loved the natural world.

My deepest condolences to Lynne, Erin and Daniel, and to all those who knew and loved Glen.
His sister-in-law, Liz is my dear friend and I remember when Lynne met Glen, and I got to meet him for the first time. I believe it was at the Grover. I was instantly struck by his sense of humor and in the years to come, his never ending kindness.
He was one of the good ones. One of the best ones, and I wish him peace, as I do his family. ❤️

Erin, this was perfect, I laughed and cried.I have so many memories, but one in particular is the night I was sleeping on your parents pull out couch, in now your room, and he invited his friend, Ted to sleep in the pull out bed after a hearty night of drinking, unaware that I was already in there! I can't say exactly how surprised I was to have a visitor. Thankfully your mom let your dad know I was there, and Ted moved downstairs.
I loved your dad and will miss him dearly
