Obituary of Raïs Tchicaya Tshilanda

Please celebrate Raïs's life with us on Friday, August 28, 2026 with a Drop-In Open House from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Community Room of 150 River Street (north of Dundas Street East, Toronto).

Please note that gifts of food for this are gratefully declined and we encourage you to provide such gift to the family in the weeks following his funeral services.

A Funeral Service for Raïs will be celebrated on Saturday, August 29 from 12 noon until 1 p.m. with visiting from 10 a.m. at the eco Life Celebration Centre-Sanctuary of St. Peter & St. Simon the Apostle Church (525 Bloor St. East, at Parliament Street, Toronto). Please use the main doors located off of Bloor Street only.

There is limited parking at the chapel, with some spaces in the front lot off of Bloor St. E. Additional parking may be found on the surrounding streets or in the laneway to the east of the church which is accessible from Howard Street.

Please note that gifts of food for this are gratefully declined and we encourage you to provide such gift to the family in the weeks following his funeral services.

Those unable to attend the Funeral Service in person are welcome to join us virtually via Zoom by clicking HERE.

Virtual guests are kindly asked to ensure that their device volume is turned up before the service begins. Please note that technical assistance will not be available during the livestream.

His burial will take place at approximately 2:45 p.m. at Thornton Cemetery (1200 Thornton Road North, Oshawa). 

Following Raïs's burial the Family will be hosting a reception, from 5 p.m.until 9 p.m. at the Community Room of 150 River Street (north of Dundas Street East, Toronto)
