Obituary of Stase Draugelis

Stase Joana Draugelis (nee Sileikyte) Passed away on July 8, 2016, at the age of 93 after a courageous battle with age-related illness. Dear wife of Algirdas, and loving sister of Aldona, Liuda and Vytukas (all predeceased). Stase will be deeply missed by her daughters Rasa and Daina, her granddaughter Amber, her niece Aldona, her nephew Gintas, their family members, and her neighbours and friends. Born in Zarasai, Lithuania, Stase came to Canada in 1947 where she lived a long and meaningful life. In her younger years, she was an active member of Toronto's Lithuanian community, particularly in Lithuanian scouting. She treasured the times she spent travelling, vacationing in Florida, visiting with dear friends, and the many summers spent at Wasaga Beach. Stase was a bookkeeper at Mohawk Furniture where she worked with her husband and his partners. She liked gardening and had a deep affection for her pets. In her final years, despite physical limitation due to blindness and aging, her mind remained remarkably sharp and she enjoyed sharing her life stories and spending cherished time with her family. May her loving spirit and her determination to live life fully remain in your memories. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Ina Grafton Gage Home and to the doctors and nurses at Scarborough General Hospital.
