Obituary of Nancy Hyde

Hyde, Nancy Annie Jan 6, 1931 - July 6, 2016 “Ach Aye” … on July 6, 2016 Nancy Annie Hyde of Toronto passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 85 years. She was predeceased by her parents Kathleen and Albert Mackrel , Armagh, Northern Ireland, & her husband of 54 years, Noel William Hyde. Nancy is survived by her daughters; Kym and Lynn (Rod), her three grandchildren; Rory, Allie and Claire, & her older brother, Bert Mackrel. She will be missed by numerous friends in Toronto, Brantford, Edmonton & Northern Ireland. Nancy was born in Armagh, Northern Ireland & was raised in a military family which allowed her to live in various locations during her youth including India, Hong Kong and Egypt. Eventually she returned home where she met Noel. In 1950 they immigrated to Canada, married & started their family adventure while living in London, Ontario, Toronto, Dallas, Texas & a few retirement years in Venice, Florida. Nancy was a thoughtful, caring lady who personified grace & kindness, She enjoyed many things including music, dancing, old movies & had a great eye for fashion. But nothing gave her greater joy than simply being with her “loved ones” listening to the “craic” & having a good laugh. The family thanks the staff at St. Mike’s Hospital for their tender care over the past few weeks. A special thank you to the Palliative Care Unit at St. Mikes for allowing her last few days to be in comfort & peace while maintaining her dignity. In July 2017 Nancy will return to her beloved Northern Ireland & a funeral service and celebration of her life will be held.
