Obituary of Dean (Wilfrid) Taylor
Dean (Wilfrid Dean) Taylor
April 11, 1940 - October 28, 2016
Dean was born April 11, 1940 in Toronto. He was one of three children. In 1963 he married the love of his life Pat. In 1965 they welcomed their first son Jeff. Then in 1969 came their second son Chris. Then the crown jewel came in 1973 a daughter, Teri.
He was a sales manager for Goodwill Sales then later for Fireco. He had a great love for music, drumming was his passion. Many nights were spent drumming to Dave Brubeck and many other jazz players. He liked to travel to Barbados, where his love for island music was born. One particular band that he enjoyed was The Merry Men. This was a band that he and his best friend Bob Anderson enjoyed together.
Also his amazing talent for wood working kept him busy. Always creating something new. He loved to build furniture, bird houses, and folk art. He never wanted to see good wood go to waste so most of his things were built out of recycled wood.
In 2002 Katelynn, and then in 2004 Becky Boo, his beloved grand daughters, were born. He now had a new passion teaching them how to tinker with hammers, nails, wood, and glue and banging on the drums. They loved all the time spent with him.
In 2006 he walked is daughter down the isle when she married the love of her life Alex.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great friend. He will be deeply missed!
