Barb was such an amazing woman - a true matriarch for her family, and a selfless friend to many. I have always felt welcomed by Barb at the many family events I joined in on, as an honourary member. She was funny, with an often dark sarcastic humour I was fond of, and she called things as she saw them. I think the first time I met Barb was going over to her house when Kharen was living there, and going through some old clothes they were getting rid of - I was in a phase of my fashion where I enjoyed wearing strange tactile shirts, and so of course I tried on the fuzzy neon shirt she had ready for the trash. It was extremely tight, and looked ridiculous, so I loved it - and Barb thought it was hilarious - didn't bat an eye about some strange guy trying on this crazy fuzzy top. That was when I first felt comfortable being myself around Barb, and we've since had some interesting heart-to-heart conversations about life as well - she always felt like a friend more than a friend's mother. I'll miss her, and will always remember her fondly.

The moment that you died
