Obituary of Christopher Donald Sharpe
The Sharpe family is very sad to share that Chris left this life to join our Father in Heaven on Saturday June 16th, 2018. The last fifteen months of his life had been a struggle for him and he is now free of pain and at peace. His family was with him and Beth, his devoted and loving wife never left his side the last few days and never missed a day visiting in the fifteen months Chris spent in hospital.
Chris, who turned 50, last August, was the middle child of Tim and Betty Sharpe. He leaves behind as well his older brother Kevin and his wife Lisa and his younger sister Kim, and three nieces, Kaitlyn, Laura and Lyndsie, but especially his most loved wife of fifteen years, Beth and her Filipino family.
Chris graduated from Ridley College in St. Catharines, where he excelled in music, playing the piano and the French horn in the cadet band. He enjoyed singing in the Ridley Choir and in his church choirs over the years. Chris enjoyed keeping in touch with his classmates
Chris loved his time spent at the family cottage on Gull Lake, swimming, water skiing, splashing in the falls on Rackety Creek and playing board games with whoever was around. He spent two memorable summers at Kilcoo camp.
Chris had several medical issues which greatly challenged him over his life, but he bravely handled them with strength and grace. He successfully completed a business course at Seneca College. Chris worked hard at several jobs, but his Commissioner’s work led him to meet the joy of his life, Beth who was a care giver in the building Chris was working security at.
Chris was employed by the Ontario Government at the Superior Court of Justice which finally gave his some security and he really enjoyed his time there.
When Chris and Beth married Chris found himself surrounded with a whole new family of Filipino cousins and friends. Twice he and Beth traveled to the Phillippines to visit, the second time visiting their foster child through World Vision. Chris and Beth were a gentle, loving, and caring couple with many friends. Chris was very blessed to have her in his life.
The family invites all to a celebration of Chris’ life on Saturday, July 7th, 2018. A service will be led by The. Rev. Canon Joan Cavanaugh at 11 a.m. Guests will be welcomed from 10:30 a.m. It will be held in the Common Room at their condo building at 650 Lawrence Avenue West, Toronto. Underground parking is available for visitors by using the code 7777 at the intercom.
