Obituary of David W. S. Sharkey

Dave Sharkey - The ultimate fighter passed away on November 27, 2015. He is survived by his wife of 44 years Betty and his daughters, Lisa & her husband Brian and Stephanie & her fiance Eric as well as his 'Grand-dog' Dax. How do you write something that means something ? My father was great at everything ..rockstar, auto engineer, teacher, supporter, father, husband, gardener, painter, pool player…. He could fix anything, people loved him for his trueness, his love for cars and he had the ability to figure out a way or a solution.. He escaped in music, playing his faboulous guitars His smile, great smile….. the way he could make everyone at ease and he was a great cook. In fact, he was pretty good at everything. The thing about my dad, no matter how he felt he always wanted to help. There was never something he couldn’t figure out. Now….let’s talk music. His ultimate fancy; guitar his weapon of choice. A beauty Fender Telecaster. His legacy lives on with surf, blues and some Elvis of course, but our fav this is a good ol Boston tune. More than a Feeling. Sums it up….. I looked out this morning and the sun was gone Turned on some music to start my day I lost myself in a familiar song I closed my eyes and I slipped away It's more than a feeling, when I hear that old song they used to play (more than a feeling) I begin dreaming (more than a feeling) It's more than a feeling, when I hear that old song they used to play (more than a feeling) I begin dreaming (more than a feeling) 'Till I see my Marianne walk away I see my Marianne walkin' away So many people have come and gone Their faces fade as the years go by Yet I still recall as I wander on As clear as the sun in the summer sky It's more than a feeling, when I hear that old song they used to play (more than a feeling) I begin dreaming (more than a feeling) 'Till I see Marianne walk away I see my Marianne walkin' away When I'm tired and thinking cold I hide in my music, forget the day And dream of a girl I used to know I closed my eyes and she slipped away She slipped away It's more than a feeling, when I hear that old song they used to play (more than a feeling) I begin dreaming (more than a feeling) 'Till I see Marianne walk away.
