Obituary of Keith Harold Joseph Jewell

“May the music play on.... Your life was not an easy one but you worked hard at it.”

It is with great sadness that the family of Keith Harold Joseph Jewell, 65, announces his passing.  Keith passed peacefully in his sleep on September 2, 2018.  

Keith was born November 30, 1952 in Little Current Ontario to late Harold and Beatrice (nee Vassair).    

Keith was a lifelong lover of music and enjoyed everything outdoors.   He enjoyed gardening, skiing, biking, coaching his children and could even be seen building sandcastles for his children and nieces/nephews.  Whenever he had the chance to leave behind the land, he would find a way to be on or near the water.  He spent most of his adult days in the Southern Ontario but his heart never left the Manitoulin Island.

Keith will be deeply missed by his only son, Kaleb (Gwen) Jewell. He was preceded in death by his beautiful daughter Kristen.  He will be forever remembered by his six grandchildren Karyn, Josh, Jordin, Sebastian Jewell Tyson, Nikolas and Kory and his former wife Cheryl Hicks Tyson.   Keith also leaves behind extended family and dear friends in Halton/Peel, in Quebec and his birthplace of the Island.

A celebration of Life Open House will be held for family and friends on December 1, 2018.  Sometime during the warmer months there will be another opportunity to remember Keith’s life on the Manitoulin Island.  In honour of Keith’s appreciation for nature and in lieu of flowers, donations to a fund for a future memorial tree can be forwarded by EFT to keithstree52@gmail.com (password answer: remember).
