Obituary of Benjamin Edward Vaughan
Benjamin Edward Vaughan 81 of Toronto Canada passed away on December 9, 2018 at Scarborough General Hospital.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1:15 pm Friday December 14, 2018 at the eco Life Celebration Centre at the Chapel of St. John’s Norway Cemetery and Cremation, 256 Kingston Road Toronto ON, M4L 1S7 (At Woodbine) with Reverend Yves Fournier officiating.
Benjamin was born July 23, 1937 in Montego Bay, Jamaica to Wilbert Vaughan and Ethelda (Cunningham) Vaughan. In the early 70’s he married Adassa Davis in Montreal Quebec. Benjamin was employed as an engineer in Jamaica and worked with CN Rail has a mechanic in Montreal then a taxi driver in Ottawa. He enjoyed working and only retired a few years prior to his passing. He was a very quiet and introverted man.
Edward moved to Toronto in 2015 and reunited with his daughter Karen in March of 2018. His favorite sports were soccer and basketball. He spent most of his weekends with his grandchildren and love trips to Niagara Falls with the family eating at the local Wendy’s restaurant; he also enjoyed taking part in discussion about Canadian, American, and Global politics.
Benjamin is survived by his only daughter, Karen Castillo and her husband John Castillo of Toronto, Canada and their three grandchildren, Jair and Kemuel, and Lanéka Castillo.
