Obituary of Louis Frederick Natale
Louis Frederick Natale, 69, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, March 31st at Bridgepoint Active Healthcare Hospital.
Loving father, husband, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend. Louis was born in Rochester New York to Ave and Albert Natale on January 5, 1950. Loved dearly by his parents, his siblings Steve, Pete and Mary, as well as his many nieces and nephews. Also loved so dearly by his wife Sharon Singer and his three children Katrina (Adrian Mottram), James and Hannah Natale, and Sharon’s daughters Layah (Oliver Johnson) and Sasha (Nadeem Umar Khitab) Singer-Wilson, his two granddaughters and two more grandchildren soon to arrive.
Lou touched the lives of so many personally and professionally. With his tenderness and strength of will, his accomplishments as a part of the Canadian music community will always be remembered. With his travels, music, volunteer efforts and his uncompromising care for his loved ones, it is difficult to summarize his impact.
A pillar of the community in music and humanitarian work, particularly with immigrants to Toronto, Lou wanted everyone to feel welcomed and to be encouraged to see their potential. He was a born leader and visionary, recognizing what could be created out of something and always seeing it through to its completion, making us all laugh along the way.
For the last few years Lou has been working on an album of original songs, a project very close to his heart. It will be released posthumously this month. All proceeds will be going to Doctors Without Borders.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Lou’s life will be held in the Hall of Beach United Church, 140 Wineva Ave. On Wednesday April 3rd from 2 – 4:30pm.
In lieu (pun intended) of flowers, please instead make a donation to Doctors Without Borders. These can be made by using the Donations Tab on his memorial web page.
