My memories of Maurice are all very special. He was a very kind gentleman with a generous nature and a quick sense of humour. He was deeply religious without being "preachy". He radiated goodness. He was forgiving and chose to see only the best in those he met, never critical nor unkind. He never wasted time dwelling on any problems but instead, he chose to have a very positive attitude towards people and towards life.
He enjoyed playing bridge but never took the game too seriously which endeared him to many players because they came away having had a fun time while in his presence. Although he has not played in the last year or so, many still remember him with affection and respect and have often asked me about Maurice.
I think Maurice set a great example on how best to live life. Many people will miss Maurice and I am definitely going to miss him too but as sad as his passing is, I am better off for having had the opportunity of knowing him. I have been left with many precious memories and feel richer in spirit for those years that he was my "special" friend. Thanks Maurice.
