Obituary of Nelson William Dolan
"I have lived a life I never could have imagined"
With great love and deep sorrow we announce Nelson William Dolan's death on September 28, 2021 due to stomach cancer. Above all else Nelson loved his family deeply and fiercely....a feeling that was mutual. Best friend and soulmate to wife Linda Bird; amazing father to son Bruce (Rebecca) and daughter Clare (Connor) who were all the centre and light of his life. Nelson lived his life with no regrets. A rewarding career, meaningful charity and community work, The Maple Leafs, cycling, camping, photography, music, coffee, gardening, concerts, JIC, cards, laughing, fishing, music nights, time with friends and family dinners all brought Nelson such joy.
During these past 2 years we have been amazed and touched by the outpouring of love and support from family, friends, our neighbours and community, RG Henderson, Music Night guys, Ride to Conquer Cancer group and childhood friends, we thank you all. Nelson believed his energy would survive his death and it has. We know Nelson will be with us for the rest of our lives.
At Nelson's request cremation has taken place followed by a private family service. In Nelson's honour we look forward to enjoying one of his favourite bike rides on the Leslie Spit with family and friends, please meet us Saturday October 16 @ 11:30 am at the entrance to Spit. (rain or shine)
