I grew up with syd in Weston! We are the van vugt family. He was a sweet dear friend I wish I could have made it to his funeral. I had moved to Prince Edward Island and then we lost touch! He will be always one of my best friends growing up! Love you my friend! Rest in peace! Xox we will all meet again! Loved his jokes!!!!!

Syd fated my mother from 1995 until 2005. We fell out of touch when they split up but I am grateful to have found him again almost two years ago. He was like a father to me more than my own father. So many life lessons were passed down from him. I'm grateful he was able to see pictures of my beautiful baby daughter. He is a big reason why I try to be the most devoted father I can be. I still don't have the words to say how much finding him again two years ago meant to me. He remembered all our little inside jokes and messaged me every day to aee how I was doing. I'll never forget him. ❤
