Obituary of George Mooradian

February 13, 1946 – March 15, 2022

A devoted husband, brother, uncle and gentleman who will be remembered for his undeniable generosity and many friendships. Always willing to share his help and expertise when needed.  His wonderful dry sense of humour will be missed by all.

With sadness, the family of George announces his passing into peace, surrounded by love after a 24 month battle with cancer. His determination, optimism and courage were an inspiration to all. He leaves behind his loving wife of 47 years Mary, his siblings; twin brother Art (Carolann), Flo (Peter) Thornley, Mel (Eva) Prout as well as his sister-in-law Linda (the late Gordon) Pettifer. He will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews Jennifer (Geoff) Gamble, Brent Mooradian, Jonathan (Ashlee) Thornley, Sarah (Dave) Berger, Sylvia Prout and Steven Pettifer as well as many great-nieces and nephews.

After retiring from General Motors with 23 years of service as an electrician.  George was fortunate to make many lasting and special memories alongside Mary travelling Canada, U.K. and Europe. His annual trips to Palm Springs, California were something he looked forward to every winter where he golfed and visited with Mary's cousins. A proud gardener, and previous Trillium Award winner; his yard was always immaculate. George was a passionate golfer he was always up for a round with his fellow coworkers and friends. He will be missed by all who loved him.

In keeping with George's wishes, cremation has taken place and his final place of rest will be at Niagara Lake Shore Cemetery at a later date. Please celebrate his life with us on Thursday, March 31 at 11 a.m. at Harbour Fellowship Church (51 South Service Road, St. Catharines). Live streaming will be available by clicking THIS LINK HERE.
