Kyle will be sorely missed. As his neighbour in Leslieville and co-worker in government, I had the pleasure of getting to know Kyle from a personal and professional perspective. I have fond memories of early morning walks up Carlaw Avenue to catch the east-bound Gerrard streetcar, running into Kyle en route, and having some engaging conversations with him about life/work on our way to the office (conversations that were inadvertently shared with other transit commuters, I'm sure). A good number of discussions about tattoos and Northern Ontario road trips come to mind. Kyle may have been a city dweller like me, but his passion for the outdoors across the more remote, quiet parts of the province were obvious. My heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and loved ones.

To Franco, Suzette, Cory, Candace, and Peter, please accept my sincerest condolences for your loss. Since his passing it has been difficult to pass by his cubicle in 33 Bloor, and I can’t even begin to imagine the sense of loss in your family.
I knew Kyle through work and was lucky enough to be part of a unit that consisted of only me and him for about year and half. I have always considered those days to be some of the best time I have had working in the OPS. The job itself could get very stressful but having Kyle on the team meant there was never a dull moment, and he managed to bring laughter in the most stressful of situations.
The first quality of Kyle that I found most unique was how sincere he was with his advice. Every time I approached Kyle about an issue, he took interest as if it was his own problem and took time to listen and then took even more time to offer his best advice. If he didn’t know enough about the issue, then he always managed to find a friend who knew more about it and was happy to seek advice on your behalf. I have lost count for the number of times I saw him offer friends legal advice, followed by let me check with Dad and get back to you. Approaching him meant that he advised you as he was facing the same problem. I always thought he went out of his way for me but came to realize that he was this way with everyone who approached him.
The second thing that I found to be unique to Kyle was that he never followed the crowd and was always miles ahead of everyone else. I noticed that if he was taking an interest in something, most likely it was not mainstream, but came to expect it to become a trending topic a short while later. From the fashion trends he followed to the brands he was supporting, or causes he took on, they were always unheard of, and a good few months before those items became mainstream. Sadly, for all of us, his passing has been years ahead of its time.

Kyle, you were such a good dude. I can’t believe I have to use the past tense here.
We met back in the early 2000’s - you, a shy but friendly guy who would always fall asleep at parties. Me, a weirdo out of my element, who you made laugh.
You’d pop up in my life at great moments - parties, weddings, cottages, get togethers with excellent people. You were witty as all get-out, a great storyteller, and made absolutely everyone feel welcome.
A few months or years would pass between seeing you, and there was one time you showed up at a party with an epic Gimli beard, covered in tattoos: a new look, a new outlook on life. You’d transformed on the outside but had the same hilarity, the same warmth, the same open heart.
This is just so fucking tragic. I am hopeful, in some way, this terribleness was just that - another transformation. A change, but your warmth and kindness persists. A version of you falling asleep early at a party.
You’re a good dude, Kyle. Everybody loved you. You’ll be missed.

Dear Frank, Suzette, Cory and Candace.
Sending my condolences in what must be an unbearable time. Kyle had changed my life in so many positive ways. The warmth of your family and his companionship is something I will never forget. My memories of him will always be from the first days at Western- he was full of happiness and had a unique excitement about life. He bought me a copy of the Tao Te Ching, a text I had never heard of… and now my entire career is based off my introduction to that book. An incredible text on the laws of nature and how we can live a harmonious life. I have been re reading this and thinking of Kyle.
My heart aches for all of you, I’m holding you close and thinking of you and him daily. With love, Tedi

Please accept my sincere condolences. I only had a limited amount of time around Kyle at work but was so incredibly impressed by his ability to listen and add a thoughtful perspective to anything that we discussed. He always had time to talk over the years, and we would jump back into things whenever we crossed paths. I was shocked to hear the news and can't help but think of that infectious smile of his. A true blessing to have known him.

I JUST heard from PDSB about Kyle's passing. I'm shocked and so saddened. I was leaving for secondment as he was returning in 2021 and I remember Kyle being so positive and openly talking about prioritizing your mental health and his words really stuck with me. These photos of Kyle, Peter and Jane - us PDSB folks - we were a big family, and I will miss Kyles zest for life, his smile and his overall energy. May his soul fly high and he rest in peace.
Thanks Carey for these.

Suzette, Frank, Cory and family,
Please accept my deepest condolences for your loss. I remember with such love and fondness our time as neighbours on Shavian. Kyle had such a great sense of humour and zest for life. Even as a kid, when I would babysit, he could really negotiate bedtime! He loved his family and friends so much. I remember being at a celebration dinner (for Kyle's 19 birthday?) and he was such a great host, with a smile and hug for everyone. His warmth lit up the room. May the wonderful memories of Kyle bring you comfort in this difficult time. He will always live on in all who loved him. Sending my love to you all.

My heart is broken.
Kyle, I can’t believe you’re gone. I think about you all the time. So many things remind me of you. Nothing grand, the simple daily things of life. Oil and vinegar as salad dressing, crumpling up parchment paper so it lies flat on the cookie sheet, the wood pile at the cottage. I have many regrets about time missed. I thought we would have much more of it. Thank you for holding my hand when I was upset. Spending time with our kids. Being a best friend to Will.
Candace, Suzette, Franco, Cory and family. I know this is a devastating loss. It’s so unfair. I hope your memories bring you comfort.
Love and hugs, Sheila.

Candace, Franco, Suzette, Cory, Peter and extended family, so so sorry for the sudden passing of Kyle. I can’t imagine the sense of loss you are all feeling.
Kyle was one of my oldest and dearest friends, from playing soccer or Nintendo together as kids right into adulthood with many many great times shared in between.
He was always such a kind, caring generous person, who was always happy to have a long chat, we spent lots of nights having long discussions over beers in my garage, or up north for a boys weekend at the island.
His company would liven up any dinner table and I have so many wonderful memories of time spent together.
I can’t believe he’s gone.
Kyle would often do the “Irish goodbye” when we were out at the bar or a house party, he would just leave when he wanted and not say anything and we’d catch up later. I’m taking some solace in the idea that is what he’s doing now. He has left before I wanted him to and now I’m looking forward to catching up with him later.
Goodbye for now my friend

I started working at the Employment Ontario and came from the Humber program Kyle was in. It was a typical office lifestyle 9-5 and not very fun. That all changed that magical summer when Kyle stepped through the door.
He immediately proceeded to replace me as the coolest guy in the office. Then, somehow he started explaining things at work to me and it all made perfect sense. In a few months he had learned more about work than I had learned in 2 years, and not only that, he would always go out of his way to explain things to me in a way that was not only hilarious but also educating.
As I moved on to my next job down the hall, who do I see sitting down at my old desk as the new issues coordinator? None other than that handsome man Kyle Angeletti. He managed to do this job that I found stessful, with a go with the flow laid back attitude that I will always find admirable. He proceeded to not use the method I showed him at all, obviously, Kyle started his own system that allowed him to be employee of the month and spend as much time as possible visiting everyone in the office before going for one of his Kyle walk adventures.
The trail of laughter you would hear as Kyle made his daily rounds of making everyones day was like Santa Clause's sleigh bells getting closer to your house on Christmas Day.
He truly gave everyone he met a different gift just for them and for me it was becoming my friend.. and teacher.. and beard growing instructor and wine connoisseur, party planner, you name it really. He'd always be available for after work for even more shenanigans and truly was the embodiment of fun.
I'll miss ya bud and I'm sure you've already become the new coolest guy in heaven.

Kyle and I met on the first day of grad school in 2008 and our connection was instant. We must have hung out together every day for the duration of our program. We both got our first placements with the Government of Ontario and went through that transition to working life and adulthood together. He was like a brother to me and I couldn't be more grateful to have had him as a friend.
Kyle was the best listener and he gave great advice. He had the ability to make others feel special. You could be in a room full of people with tons of distraction, but when Kyle was engaged in conversation with you, he made you feel like you were the only person in the room. I know he made a lot of people feel that way.
To Kyle's family and other loved ones, know that you raised an amazing human being who had a great impact on me and everyone who was fortunate enough to have made his acquaintance.

Dear Suzette, Frank, Candace, Cory, Peter and family—
Kyle touched our hearts. He was a kind and warm soul. I am lucky to have called him my friend.
From our first days at Banting, I remember sitting next to him in class and admiring his penmanship—the whimsical doodles and graffiti he would draw. In those early days, we connected over our mutual love for music. Something he was always deeply passionate about. I remember visiting your home in London and spending countless hours in the basement watching the Lord of the Rings trilogy on endless repeat. He showed me the importance of family. A value that I learned from him and will cherish and hold close forever. Family was everything to him. He had this innate ability of bringing people together. He loved deeply and made you feel special. Later at Western, in residence, those boys and I would be drawn to him like moons to his planet. We shared milestones and life moments. He was my oldest and dearest friend. I can see him in my memories, at my wedding, delivering his speech as my best man. He was confident and sharp-witted as always. Later in life, we would get together and talk for hours. We'd go on hikes, hit the gym, play squash, and have fancy dinners. With his impeccable wine selection, of course. We used to say we were building our empires together. We forged in brotherhood a deep bond that crystallized in our hearts. I say I was lucky because I experienced the many parts of Kyle. His love for nature and legos. He inspired me to discover books and read. And his fashion influence can be seen when you open my closet.
He lives on in my heart. In all of our hearts. And while I am sad and devastated, I am also immensely grateful. He gave me the gift of friendship—of love and laughter. And showed me a special kind of magic that can only exist between true friends.

Thanks for sharing your memories and pictures of him with us.
