Obituary of Tadeusz Raczka
Tadeusz Raczka was called to heaven on July 21, after battling brain cancer for a short period of time. He passed away in Credit Valley Hospital, surrounded by his family.
Ted was born in Zywiec, Poland on October 6, 1962. His parents, Jozefa and Stanislaw, created a loving family with their three children Jan, Ted, and Danuta. From an early age a fulfilling life for Ted was one of adventure, experience, relationships, and most importantly humor.
As a young adult he traveled through Eastern Europe, meeting people and exploring all the world had to offer. This passion pushed Ted to leave Poland for Austria in ‘88, where by fate he unknowingly offered his future wife, then Malgorzata Kotlarz, a car ride.
Ted and Margaret wed on October 19, 1991. The differences and similarities they shared along with their love and respect for one another created a lasting companionship that withstood it all. Ted never hesitated to encourage his wife and others even if it meant sacrificing his own wants. He was, simply put, the best husband one could ever hope for.
Over 30 years of his life he spent working at Forestwood Co-Op, servicing the residence with pride, care, and dedication. He built many fond memories and made the workplace enjoyable.
Ted will always be remembered for his light hearted and humorous nature. He knew how to brighten any situation and put people at ease with a joke. Anyone Ted met can recall a memory of his sense of humor and wit. This quality stayed with him til the very end, and continues to remain in everlasting memories.
After twelve years of marriage, they were blessed with two girls. The center of Ted’s world were his two daughters, Monique and Amelia. He was a devoted, and loving Father, who put his two girls before all. He always made time for them and was present for every moment and occasion. Ted instilled in his girls their strong ties to their Polish roots by teaching them Polish and always making an effort to travel back to Poland with them. He encouraged and taught his girls to be independent, strong, smart, and to work hard to fulfill their dreams.
Ted valued and cherished connections with others. He loved and treasured his family and friends. Ted always made an effort to reach out and connect with others, and would not hesitate to go out of his way to provide support. Ted always made an effort to give those he spent time with his full attention and considered everyone. He made sure to keep strong ties with his family in Poland, reaching out and calling them often to always share a laugh. He loved them dearly and every trip to Poland gave him the greatest joy and excitement.
He was enthusiastic about the art of Tai Chi that teaches about one's emotional, physical, and higher self. The values of Tai Chi align with Ted’s, and the wise words of Master Moy Lin Shin “Trust, Sincerity, Dedication” describe his character well. Ted experiences life to the fullest through his selflessness, strong faith, and good morals. Remembering, reflecting, and celebrating the life Ted had, will allow his spirit to continue living in our hearts.
A visitation will be held at the eco Life Celebration Centre, Magnolia Chapel of St. John's Dixie Cemetery on Tuesday, July 26th between 9:00am and 11:00am. The address is 737 Dundas Street East, on the corner of Dundas and Cawthra in Mississauga. There is parking on-site nearby the church, and guests can make their way to the main chapel building.
