The family announces with sorrow the death of Mrs. Betty Singh, Monday afternoon Aug 1 2022 peacefully at her daughter Petty’s home in Mississauga, surrounded by family. She is survived her children i. Lawrence (Chandra) of Dallas, ii. Eddy (Oma) of Mississauga, iii. Buddy Boy (Dove) of Houston, iv. Rudy (Giatri) of Mississauga v. Leila (Larry) of St. Catharines, vi. Petty (John) of Mississauga, vii. Deo (Gwen) of Mississauga,viii. Seeta (Vijay) of Whitby ix.. Marvil (Linda) of Melancthon, x. Kayla (Blair) of Kleinburg and Chan (Dani) of Toronto, 28 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. 

Betty was predeceased by her husband Albert (2008), and grandchildren Natasha (1992), Molly (2012), Dennis (2015) (Latisha) 2021.

Betty loved to cook and through the use of her kitchen, she enticed family and friends to visit. At her Tomken Grove Apartments, she was part of the community, always interested in building activity she could see on the security cameras.

Betty was the matriarch of a family that spans across the southern United States, and southern Ontario and she was the glue that held the huge family together.

Betty was born in British Guyana, and with the sponsorship of her eldest boys, Betty immigrated to Canada in 1980. Betty didn’t have the opportunity to attend school herself, but she raised a family of scholars that have become successful in many different endeavors

Please join us in celebrating her life with Vigil Prayers on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at 6:30 p.m. followed by visitation until 9 p.m. at the eco Life Celebration Centre, Magnolia Chapel of St. John's Dixie Cemetery (737 Dundas Street East at Cawthra, Mississauga).

Parking is available in the large lot adjacent to the church. Please proceed through the cemetery gates to the large building ahead, west entry.
