Obituary of Rogelio Manuel Mella
Rogelio Manuel Mella also known as, Kelo, Chico, passed away on October 15th, 2022 as a result of a cardiac arrest. He is survived by his loving wife, Magaly Mella, his children Nicolas Mella (Glodiana), and Jonathan Mella (Marissa), his grandchildren Alexander, James and Isaiah, his mother Ana Rosa Tapia Tobar, his predeceased father Rogelio Segundo Mella, his siblings, Mario Mella (Gloria), Antonio Mella (Judith), Jimena Mella,
Miguel Mella (Jimena) and Valeria Mella (Carlos) and several nieces and nephews.
Rogelio immigrated to Canada from Chile in 1978, as a refugee due to a Chilean dictatorship.
Rogelio had a zest for life, had a great sense of humour, was always a gentleman and loved his family dearly. He enjoyed spending time with his three grandsons, family, friends and his second family of friends, Rumbo Al Sur.
Rogelio loved to share his wisdom, was passionate about soccer and from time to time you could find him at the roulette tables.
Rogelio will be deeply missed by all of his children, grandchildren, his extended family and many nieces and nephews and friends.
May he rest in eternal peace.
Please join us for the visitation and prayers on Monday, October 24th, from 5:30pm to 7:00pm, at the eco Life Celebration Centre-Magnolia Chapel of St. John's Dixie Cemetery (737 Dundas St E, at Cawthra, Mississauga, ON L4Y 2B5). For those unable to join us in person, a livestream of the gathering is available by clicking HERE beginning at 5:30pm. Vigil Prayers will be held at 6:00 p.m. The family invites floral donations to be sent to the chapel address above, or in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kidney Foundation by clicking on the Donations tab above this page.
Parking is available in the large lot adjacent to the church. Please proceed through the cemetery gates to the building just a short distance away.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter & Paul Parish (4070 Central Pkwy E, Mississauga, ON L4Z 1T6) the next day on Tuesday, October 25th at 9:30am-10:30am Private cremation services will take place immediately concluding the Funeral Mass.
