Obituary of Ian Campbell

Our dear brother, Ian Campbell, age 74, of London, ON, died January 11th at University Hospital, London.

Ian was born in Paisley, ON. He moved at age 11 to Orangeville ON with his siblings and parents (Dr. Donald and Edith Campbell). After graduation in Orangeville, Ian continued his post secondary schooling at the University of Guelph. Following the attainment of his degree in education he was hired by the Peel Board of Education where he worked his full career as a teacher and teacher-librarian. He had achieved a Masters degree in Library Sciences.

Ian is survived by brothers Dr. Wayne Campbell (Sheila) of Woodstock ON, Mac Campbell (Pat) of Kelowna BC and sister Lynne Laverty (Fred Giles) of Orangeville ON.

Nieces and nephews, who were dearly loved by Ian, are Donald Grant, Sharon Lakatos and Alan Grant; Shelley Stringer (deceased), Allison Denmark and Ian Campbell; Scott Campbell and Laurie Stantic; Dr. Lee-Anne Laverty, Craig Laverty and Tracey Lee.

He was predeceased in death by his sister Catharine Grant, brother-in-law Lloyd Grant, brother-in-law Don Laverty and niece Shelley Stringer.

Family and friends were very important to Ian. His love of family and friends was evident in the caring, thoughtful manner he always showed by encouraging and enriching their lives.

Visitation and Celebration of Life for Ian will take place on Sunday, March 26th at the eco Life Celebration Centre-Magnolia Chapel of St. John’s Dixie Cemetery and Crematorium (737 Dundas St. E. at Cawthra, Mississauga ON). Visitation with family and friends will begin at 10:15 a.m. followed by a Celebration of Ian’s Life at 11:00 a.m. In accordance with Ian's wishes, cremation has taken place and he will rest in the scattering garden at St. John's Dixie Cemetery.

Guest park ing is available in the large lot  adjacent to the church.

Please  proceed through the cemetery gates to the building ahead.
