Obituary of Margaret Elaine Chester

It is with great sadness that the Chester family announces the passing of Margaret Elaine Chester (nee Honsberger) in her 76th year due to complications of pneumonia, following a lengthy battle with cancer. Margaret will be fondly remembered by her five children: Heather Guthrie (Rick), Murray Chester (Lynne), Laurie Gardiner (Derek), Nancy Erb (Karmen), and Janet Chester (Eva). She will also be missed by her grandchildren: Kyle, Kristin, Kayleen, Alanna, Shauna (Jason), Keith, Cassy, Shailyn, and Josh, and her great-grandson Charlie. Margaret was born July 4, 1940 in Lincoln County, Ontario. She was the youngest of six children born to Ralph and Hazel Irene Honsberger. She had many creative interests including drawing, sewing, writing, gardening, and knitting. She also enjoyed spoiling her beloved rescue cat, P’tika. Margaret will be remembered for her beautiful singing voice, and for knitting something special for each family member. Throughout her illness, Margaret was comforted by her unwavering faith in God. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Leukemia Society of Ontario would be appreciated. Donations can be made here on her site with the tab provided. As we follow her expressed wishes, her Celebration of Life will be held privately for family and friends of Margaret on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at The Pines (115 Fountain St South Cambridge, Ontario) with visiting from 1-1:30 p.m. at which time an informal tribute will be held, followed by a light reception.
