Obituary of Annette Kanhai
It is with great sadness that the family of Annette Kanhai announce her sudden passing on January 9th, 2024.
Annette will be lovingly remembered by her children Tariq Solomon (Nadia) & Tyrone Solomon (Lisa) and her grandchildren Shazad (Katherine), Eriq, Myla, & Taylor and her great-grandchildren Nora & Roman.
She will be dearly missed by her sister Sarojini (Joseph) and brothers Cyril, Raymond (Camille), Errol (Francine) and Terance (Fareena).
Annette was born in Guyana and moved to Canada 40 years ago. Living in Mississauga and then most recently in Cambridge for the past 26 years where she felt the most at home. A key member of the community, supporting many of the senior programs including meals on wheels Annette was known for her bright, caring and outgoing personality, bringing a smile to all she met.
To her siblings she was a fun-loving and free spirit, who was always there to help in both good and challenging times; To her children she was a pillar of strength who taught and showed them unconditional love and support; To her nieces and nephews a trusted friend, advisor and mentor who was always there to listen and offer advice; To her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, lovingly known as ‘gama ‘net’ and their huggee-bear ready to indulge their every whim.
Taken too soon, Annette will be greatly missed by all who had the extreme pleasure of knowing her.
Please join us in celebrating the life and spirit of Annette on Sunday, January 14, 2024 at the eco Life Celebration Centre-Magnolia Chapel of St. John's Dixie Cemetery & Crematorium (737 Dundas Street East at Cawthra, Mississauga).
