Obituary of Richard Thomas Wainman

With great sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our dad, Richard Wainman.  Richard passed away on June 29th, 2024, at the age of 81 in Niagara General Hospital.
He grew up in Thorold, Ontario.

Richard started working at the Ontario paper mill in 1964 until he retired. He had many friends, including his closest, Ziggy Kaufmann, where they would enjoy many fishing expeditions in Quebec together. Richard also enjoyed taking his family to Deer Creek. This was one of his favorite places to be while he enjoyed fishing, boating, and camping with his children. He taught Cindy, Chris, Mark, and Sarah to swim and fish in the lake. There are so many good memories at Deer Creek with his family.

Richard had a passion for woodworking, while he would make so many beautiful pieces of furniture and items.  Predeceased by his parents Fred James Wainman and Irene Edith (Wills), brothers Billy and Gary Wainman.  He is survived by his sister Lana Serafino( David), Sister in-law, Janet Wainman, and former loving wives, Patricia Corriveau and Joan Beres Wainman. His children Cindy Siemens, Chris Wainman, Mark Wainman(Lori), and Sarah Sigurdson(Chris).

Richard was an uncle to many nieces and nephews

Richard was gifted with a lot of grandchildren.

Cindy's children - Laura Walters (Chet) Heather Siemens, Colin Siemens, Caleb Siemens. (Great Grandchildren - Gus Walters, Quinn Walters, Grace Siemens, and Desmond Mast)

Chris's children - Kaitlin Lachapelle (Spencer) Kimberly Wainman (Great Grandchildren - Brandee Rivette,  Sophia Rivette, Alexa Lachapelle, Miles Lachapelle, and Cohen Penney)

Marks (Lori's) children - Taylor Wainman, Kayla Peters (Jorden) and Curtis Wainman (Great Grandchildren - Jackson Wainman, Maeve Peters)

Sarah's (Chris's) children - Nathaniel Sigurdson, Connor Sigurdson, Samuel Sigurdson, Stellan Sigurdson, Ella Sigurdson

He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
