Obituary of Lancy Gonsalves
With extremely heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Lancy Gonsalves, on 16th September 2024.
Lancy was born November 29, 1966, in Urva, Mangalore City, India. He came to Canada with his love of his life, Veena in 2002, from Singapore, soon they settled in Brampton, where he enjoyed a happy upbringing of his family.
Lancy worked with Mold Masters for his success, with dedicated 22 years, was well known as “The Smiling Man” for always smile on his face.
Lancy loved cooking, cranking his 80 and 90`s Hindi film songs, waking up his entire family on weekends. Well known among his friends as Carefree Lancy shared a special bond with anyone he met. Smile at first sight would force anyone to be his friend. Lancy would often be found jamming with his buddies, making memorable moments of each weekend.
Lancy was humorous, and charismatic gentleman who worked tirelessly for his family. Whenever a challenge arose, he could always be counted on to help his friends.
Lancy is survived by his wife Veena, I quote him, strong pillars, his beloved sons, Calvin and Malvin. His sisters Tressy, Jessy, Patsy and his only brother Maxim Gonsalves. He will also be dearly missed by his sisters-in-laws Mabel\ Blanche \Pressy, Anny and brother in laws, along with many friends and extended family.
May Lancy rest in peace in the Lord’s embrace.
Please join us for visiting on Sunday, September 22, 2024 from 12 noon until 2 p.m. at which time Vigil Prayers will be said, all at the eco Life Celebration Centre-Magnolia Chapel of St. John's Dixie Cemetery & Crematorium (737 Dundas Street East, at Cawthra Road, Mississauga).
Guests are asked to park in the large lot adjacent to the church and proceed through the gates to the north to the main entry.
A livestream link of the visiting and Vigil Prayers will be available by clicking HERE at approximately 12 noon. Virtual guests are reminded to have their volume set to high and that no technical assistance will be made available.
Lancy's Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, September 23, 2024 at 11 a.m. at St. Marguerite d'Youville Parish, 2490 Sandalwood Pkwy E, Brampton, followed by the Rite of Committal at Meadowvale Cemetery, St. Peter's Burial Place.
