You are in my thoughts daily and ...
When I visit your Mom, Dee and Dani.
With every decision I am faced with, no matter how big or small.
When I plan a trip.
When I play golf.
When I am with our friends.
Everything I do, I ask myself what you would have thought, what you would have said.
Still lost without you.
I miss you, your voice, your humour, your touch, hugging you, cooking for you because you enjoyed my cooking so much. I miss loving you and feeling your love.
Forever a part of me and forever loving you, Lovey.

I was terribly shocked to hear of Rick's passing. I fondly remember Rick when we worked together at Royal LePage. He was my colleague and then my manager. I will remember him for his huge way of being there - he was tall, spoke loudly and joked a lot. He laughed all the time! Condolences to his wife, his mother and other family members.

I met Rick back in the 70's when we started direct sales. Together we conquered the world at that time in Calgary and Vancouver. Rick you competed and taught me a lot. You and your family also took me In and helped me become a better person today. For this I have always been greatful. The lessons were not wasted but put to the test daily. Your character was one that I tried to duplicate. Gracefull and honest. You taught me to Enjoy life with passion and resielence for whatever comes your way is just temporary. Push forward and achieve what you desire. I will miss the emails at Xmas and the BS we threw back and forth. I will miss that humour and challenge.I am so sorry my friend as I will miss you greatly. Many people that have touched you along the way are better people for it and I am a great man for it. I know this was a battle for both of us. I love you Rick and will continue to get stronger with you up there in my Corner. My thoughts are with you Dorothea,Deana, and you Janice. We only met the once and it was the first time I ever seen Rick in love.
My heart goes out to all the surviving family of a wonderful son, brother, uncle, husband and friend. May God bless you all.

great man..best man at my wedding ( and he had to crouch down for the photos)
we had the pleasure to spend a week with Rick that he and my wife aranged the trip to watch lacrosse as a teamate and friend of mine, Les Bartley was coaching the Toronto Rock
Rick showed my son 2 valuable lessons, how to shake eggs in a tupperware container and to sit down to pee..a instant hero to him.
Rick taught me how to play guitar and we formed our first band with Dee on the drums, our first gig, the grand opening of the Chicken Coop in PG...playing the Woodwards party's host by Fred and Dot and the free hotdogs at Orange Julius when Rick worked at Little Oles in Parkwood mall.
Visiting a few years later and watching Rick still play in a band at 50 rocking it big time..and always charming Darlene with the tacky lines and cliches that we so funny.
sadly missed and the first of my friends to pass
all our love and sympathy to Mrs Wall, Dee and his most precious neice that he adored and always talked about.

I just received word today of Rick's passing and it is with very sad heart that I write this.
I normally do not do this kind of thing but I met Rick several times briefly in the early 90's when my daughter Jennifer was looking to purchase a condo in Toronto.
I don't know how Jennifer found Rick but he was like a caring Dad or caring older brother to daughter Jennifer , we purchased a condo through Rick , the condo needed a lot of upgrading and renovations to suit us but the price was within our range and the renovations were done by myself ( Dad ) and Rick was invited back to view the finished product and he was impressed since he had seen it as a 4 bedroom rental transformed to a very comfortable home for a single woman.
I have so much love and respect for Rick , he was very , very professional , extremely polite and well mannered and the kind of person that you would just like to be friends with.
I just wish that everyone that I meet in my life time could leave the same kind of impression that Rick did.
Rick was extremely kind to my daughter Jennifer in all ways and helpful with any information that she might need help with , and we as a family are so thank full for that.
My , our thoughts and condolensenses go out to the family , I am sure he will be missed by all and certainly by Jennifer.
Something else that is very interesting , Ricks birthday is the same day as mine ( Jennifer's Dad )

We just received a letter from Royal LePage about Rick's passing...
Rick was a fantastic real estate man & we had him as our realtor for 14 years. We are truly shocked. He was well-liked and a kind and generous soul. It is with much sadness that we send our condolences to his wife & family. Know that he is always with you as your guardian.
There is a saying - "Be ashamed to die until you have done something worthwhile for someone." We feel Rick lived his life in such a manner. He will be truly missed by many.
Sincerely,
Sandra & Roger Purkis

We were shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of our dear friend RIck. We remember the many good times we had with him. I've known Rick since grade ..9 in PrinceGeorge . We tagged up again in UBC Aand then became room-mates in Surrey in our -20's. We had many memorable moments when we were young parents-- playing a games, watching videos---dinners at Deanna's--most memorable New Years chicken dinner!! When we became a little more mature-- we shared wonderful times at our place at Shuswap Lake-- snorkeling, bonfires, partying and singing around a bonfire. It was so fun!!
It is so hard to say goodbye to our friend-- we are crushed
We love you, admire you, and remember you as a special person and friend..we will miss you forever
You we're quite the man RIck!,
You're forever be. In our hearts
We Love you and will miss you forever.

You are and forever will be in my heart Rick - I will miss saying "Good morning Frederick" as I walk to my office, but more so I will miss your response "Hey baby" which were often the first words I'd hear in the day. You are the person I looked to for guidance and clarity, we shared many laughs and white wine spritzers, and you astonishingly taught me a thing or two about golf. I will miss the look in your face when we discovered that you actually fit in a FIAT, our daily business banter, your candidness that made you, YOU. You were a mentor to many and a friend to all. "Farewell Frederick" may you rest in peace. My sincerest condolences go out his family.

In my experience, if you knew Rick for 5 minutes, you knew him. He was a straight shooter, you never had to second guess where he stood on any matter. Rick was honest, open and direct, however he was also soft spoken, private and thoughtful. I respected Rick, he had strong ethics and morals, he was admirable. Rick had more integrity than anyone I've ever known. You could always count on him, his door was always open. He had an infectious smile and a wicked wit. There has never been anyone like him and tragically I know for certain there never will be. His character was uniquely strong and gentle. His leadership has inspired so many, his legacy will live on. He was such an amazing man, no words can describe him, he's larger than life. To Janice and his family my heart breaks for you.

What a treat it was to visit an Agent Open House hosted by Rick because of his love for good sushi which he took great pleasure in sharing. Although it has been a while since we shared some raw fish, I am shocked and saddened by his passing because I think his life was very purposeful and valuable. I hope that his beloved will be comforted by good memories which will heal the terrible loss sooner than later. I envy his co-workers, because so many have spoken very highly of him, I wish I had spent more time in his professional company. I know Jenn Burton was a good pal for many years and a few brokerages and this is a loss for her as well.
Rick, I wish you a good journey.
