My dad taught me how to throw a baseball, how to pour a beer, how to pass slow drivers on a country road, the joys of weekends in Muskoka, and snuggles mean everything.
We had a complicated relationship but a very simple connection of heart and soul. No matter how much separation was between us, we always picked up where we left off. We loved each other with no expectations. We got each other. It just was what it was. And I miss him terribly.
There was a couple of years difference between us. Tom always loved to tease me, scare me or talk me into doing something mischievous and then he would talk me into taking the blame because I was a girl thus Mom and Dad would go easy on me. lol Tom was a handsome fella, I quickly learned the reason why older girls wanted to hang out with me, because I was Tom's sister. lol I'll always carry a soft spot in my heart for Tom, he was a charmer and we will all miss him.
