Dear Family of Colin Walsh,
For some time I wanted to contact Colin as he was my thesis supervisor at the University of Toronto. I searched for him on the internet and could not find his contact info. Today much to my surprise I found this obituary. I cannot tell you how sad and upset I am to have seen this. Please accept my late response of condolence because I did not know.
He was indeed a caring man and I only grew to really have appreciated his hard work in helping me learn after I had already graduated. I feel bad about that but it is true. I live in Calgary now and if there is anything I can do please do not hesitate to write to me.
Again my condolences.

Dear family of Colin, I just heard from David Berg about the passing of Colin. The three of us were first together at the U. of Toronto as graduate students at the St. George Graduate Residence-- one of our traditions (after working on our thesis research through the evening) was last call at the pub "Birdy's". After moving to Ottawa in 1985, I lost touch with Colin, but I am so pleased to learn that he found great happiness and purpose up North as a teacher (and ATV owner). My son Sidney would come home and talk about a teacher at MUI named Colin, his buddies would talk of him as well. Lol they talked about a lot of teachers, but I never heard them talk about a teacher with the esteem and regard they spoke of your father and husband. Colin connected with a lot of students at MUI, the respect was mutual. I along with many parents, students and others in Rankin Inlet were deeply saddened by Colin's passing but appreciate the time he gave us. He was an amazing educator and he is missed. Thank you for letting us have him for a while, God bless and take care all.

Dear Marieke, Leenah, Thomas, Maria and family/friends
We are so sorry for the loss of your dad. We have grown close to Marieke over the past year, and have seen the courage, strong support, and love with which you faced this journey as a family.
