The news of Brendan's passing came as a shock to us and the entire MotionWorks team. We would like to express our heartfelt condolences to all his family and friends.
Even though we never met Brendan in person, it was always great to work with him. With his wit and humor, Brendan made us laugh and marvel every time we read one of his scripts. He enriches the series we worked on together and for us he will live on through the characters and wonderful stories he created.

Thoughts and love to you Emma and your beautiful daughter. They say God only gives us as much as we can handle, but I have a few choice words for him! ;)
You're such an amazing woman, and so incredibly strong. I know if anyone can make it through such heartbreak and loss it's you. Brendan was an incredible man, and I know his loss will be felt by many. Though I also know the world he left is a better place for having had him in it. <3

Emma, obviously words are completely useless, except they are not, because through words, you will know how much you and Daphne and Brendan are loved, and how many people care about you, and how many people are sad that Brendan and your whole family went through this. The love you guys had for one another is one of those rare loves that many of us never find.....I think I have finally found mine, in my 50s, after having three kids with the wrong guy. I know Brendan was your everything, along with Daphne, and now your job is to make a happy life for the two of you, and move forward with an open heart, not anger. Of course I don't really know what I am talking about, but I did lose my dad when I was 12, and I do know life HAS to go on. My family would like to say that Brendan and his family were truly an inspiration to all of us at The Dr Bob Kemp Hospice. Daphne brought a ray of sunshine every day she walked the halls at Bob Kemp. Our condolences to all members of the family who were there for him everyday. The Hospice brought a lot of families together and ours was one of them. My mom passed as the end of April but we will never forget the wonderful people we met and the care that they received until the end.

Although I never met Brendan, I feel like I did indeed know him through his dear aunt and my good friend Susan. Through her I knew him to be a warm, caring and fun-loving young man who impacted many people's lives. My deep condolences to his wife, his parents, brother and sister, and to the rest of his very loving and supportive extended family. He will be truly missed by many.

I remember when I was little, and my brother had his friends over; I remember thinking "this guy is so cool and he plays the keyboard!". Like all of my brother's friends I looked up to Brendan Russell, with respect and admiration. He is loved by everyone, and he will be greatly missed.
