Obituary of Mary Ann Pokoyoway

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Mary Ann Pokoyoway, age 68. She passed away peacefully on Thursday September 26, 2019, at Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie, surrounded by family and friends.

Mary was the beloved wife of her late husband Ralph and will be greatly missed by her son Denny, sister Sonia, brother-in-law Mike, grandson Eric and her niece and nephews, Tara, Jeremy and Evan.

She is predeceased by her parents Joseph and Ewhenia Lukianyschyn and brother Ostap (Luke) Lukianyschyn.

Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who enjoyed the simple things in life. She was someone who enjoyed being with people, making them laugh and feel at home.

She was a strong woman who for many years dealt with and overcame a number of struggles and medical conditions. Unfortunately Mary could no longer contend with her latest battle, heart disease.

We will always be grateful for having Mary Ann in our life and she will forever be in our hearts.

Vichnaya Pamyat!

Mary will be put to rest in a private burial, with a public memorial to take place in the future.
