I am missing my dear friend Shannon and sending sympathies to Laura, Ben and Jennie. Shannon has been my friend for 40 years. We met while working as nurses on a surgical unit in Winnipeg. Even though she moved back to Toronto and I ended up in Edmonton, our friendship continued. We celebrated happy events together and supported each other through tough times. Shannon had a kind and compassionate heart. She appreciated the little things in life like a tea from Tim Hortons and laughing at Taffy’s antics. Rest In Peace my dear friend. I know you are watching over us and are suffering no more.

Dear Laura , Ben and family,
I wanted to send you my sincere condolences on the devastating loss of your Mom.
Shannon and I knew one another of course through our time at the Wellesley school of Nursing 40 odd years ago. But we became close friends just a few years ago. Shannon among some of my other Wellesley friends offered support to my daughter Robyn during a particularly frightening time here in Moncton. We were away at that time so this support meant the world to Robyn , Al and I. Shannon also was a huge support to both Robyn and I throughout my husbands illness and subsequent passing. I was blown away when I saw her arrive at my husbands celebration of life in Oshawa. I knew she had been unwell and rarely went far from home but she showed up to give both Robyn and I a big hug . We were both so touched by her kindness.
You were so blessed to have such an amazing mother . Our prayers go out to you at this sad time.
