I am heartbroken by Ewa's passing and my thoughts and prayers are with you all. Ewa was a beautiful person inside and out and I will forever miss our interactions and conversations about the meaning of life or about the latest amazing thing Calvin said or did and their adventures together. She knew how to simplify life and surround herself with beautiful things that brought joy around her from her home to her cottage to the foods she would "whip up" to her garden and of course the people she blessed with her friendship. I hope our paths cross again one day. Lots of love to Mat, Jovian, Calvin and Robert.

I am so terribly sorry for your loss. Ewa was an incredible woman. I grieve her loss.
Please forgive the lengthiness of this message. I had wanted to include it as a memory, but alas it is too long in length.
Being a close friend of Mat's since the 1990s, I have had the pleasure of knowing Ewa for all that time. She was always a gentle, loving, kind soul whose compassion and spirit filled the room. I fondly remember my many Saturdays spent at their house, playing games in the basement--in the corner was a beautiful painting that Ewa was working on. It was of a woman and a leopard/panther. It was a quiet companion of ours throughout much of my time there, and a visual reminder of Ewa's passion for art, beauty, and her drive for perfection - to align her works with the divine beauty that she held dear in her mind's eye. I have had the pleasure of meeting her on numerous occasions after high school, and every time she was full of love, light, patience, and support. She showed me what it is to truly presence someone when speaking to them, to put another before oneself when interacting with others. I am blessed for having known her, and she touched my life. She will always be in my heart and my memories.
Ewa was courageous, kind, and compassionate. The world weeps at her passing but rejoices at her having blessed it with her presence.
