I had the pleasure of playing with Brian in one of my former bands, Whoover.
He was fun to play with, had a great sense of humour and was, of course, an excellent musician.
So sad to hear about his passing. He definitely will be missed.

Brian and I met because I knew the Paquttes. He was in a band called Zygote, later in life I worked with Brian at Plastirap Packaging and thats where I met his lovely wife Alice. After 5 years together I left to pursue other parts of life and Brian lured me back after several years. As fate intervened and we had to part again it presented me with opportunity of a lifetime and I became a Carpenter, eventually becoming a Carpentry instructor I would always tell my students about our great times at Plastirap and how those experiences with Brian made me a better Carpenter. He was a good person who gave a big dumb kid from Barrie amazing learning experiences because he believed in me. He will always be in my memories.

Growing up on Strata Court, Mark and I were always playing together, so much so the Pinder Household became a second home to me. That’s how I got my nickname No.2 Son and Brian was my second Dad, and was there forth known as No.2 Dad.
Over the many years of knowing him, I can only recall the many good times we had. Early memories include going to the Pinder Cottage, where he would take us for boat rides, Mark and I hunting for frogs, and him introducing me to Don Mclean’s song “American Pie”.
Another memory that sticks out for me is when Mark and I were kids, building forts and tunnels on “Mount Strata”. Brian was so concerned the giant pile of snow was going to cave in on us, he brought us what I can only describe as a Plexiglas “half pipe” to help reinforce the tunnels and keep us kids safe.
When Mark and I got a little older, Brian built a pool in the backyard. And that pool paid dividends in memories with the countless hours we spent swimming in it. I can still remember helping him bring wheel barrows full of stones to the backyard to lay down for the foundation of the pool. Speaking of manual labour, I was the only employee of ABM Home and Garden, a contracting company Brian had. I spent many hours working with Brian, and couldn’t ask for a better boss. The pay was good, the music he played was groovy, and Brian kept me in good company, constantly making jokes and razzing on each other.
Brian introduced me to so many things in life, instruments, live music, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and hard work, but the one physical item I will always associate with him, is his Ford Ranchero.
The memories I shared with Brian could fill a book.
Brian Pinder had a huge hand making memories during my younger years, from another father figure, to employer, no one was as nice, as sweet and understanding as he was. In my mind, Brian will never be forgotten, and neither will any of the fantastic memories and moments we shared.
