Obituary of Linda Jean Desjardins
Linda Jean DESJARDINS (nee DANIEL)
February 8, 1949 – March 1, 2016
Vivacious, energetic, opinionated and, yes, often eccentric, Linda was a proud Aquarian through-and-through. She is remembered by her loving daughter Megan Desjardins (partner Graham Haines), former spouse and friend, Philip Desjardins, her family in Burlington and Montreal, and her ‘family of friends’ in Toronto, a city and community she truly loved.
Linda was born in Montreal, Quebec to Scottish immigrants Daniel and Freda (nee Gruner) Daniel on February 8, 1949. The passing of her father when she was a young child, and the loss of her mother to cancer when she was still in high school gave rise to her strong, independent nature.
Her varied careers have included: publicist at Toronto Workshop Productions and the Shaw Festival, Realtor at Johnston and Daniel, Sutton Realty, and Coldwell Banker, and owner/operator of Sweet Daddy’s Café in Guelph, Ontario.
Please join us at a memorial gathering to be held on Sunday, March 6, from 1-3pm at 65 Scadding Ave., Toronto. Condolences and memories of Linda may be shared online at www.ecofuneral.ca, Donations may be made to the St. Michael’s Foundation, where she was cared for with such kindness.
