We were so sad to learn of Donna's passing and our condolences go to the Schmid family. We have known them since the late 1970s when Eric became Roger's supervisor in BMO London. (He was a great boss!) We had dinner at Chislehurst, played bridge at lunchtime and enjoyed Eric's contagious pleasure at the photo of the house they had bought on Lakeshore for their return to Canada. A couple of years later we found ourselves in Canada. Of course, we knew only handful of Canadians from BMO London and it was Donne and Eric who reached out to welcome us. They became our hosts, proudly showcasing Burlington, Toronto and Canada and, more importantly, became our Canadian family. We spent every Easter, Labour Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas with them for many years and came to know their family and friends well. Roger even went to Scout Camp with Eric, ostensibly to see the country! Lo and behold, Roger succeeded Eric in his role at BMO as Eric went on to become one of BMO's top corporate bankers. Meanwhile Donna became our personal banker in Burlington! She was mighty good at that, too! Donna was Godmother to both Brandon and Ashley, 2 of our children, just around the time that Eric passed away. What a sad loss at such a young age. We've lived through so many happy Schmid family events since then. It's hard to remember them all. Michelle and Greg's wedding, births of Lauren and Eric, Chris and Jason's marriage... we've loved them all. More recently we have evolved to an annual reunion and phone calls. Be that as it may, the Schmids and the Couldreys have an unbreakable bond of love and friendship. We have relied on it for support, love and enjoyment for 4 decades and will be sure it continues for many years to come. All our love and thanks go to Donna on her passing and our condolences to Greg, Michelle, Lauren, Eric, Chris and Jason. It will never be quite the same with Donna's passing but she has built quite a foundation for us to try! Love. The Couldrey family.

Dear Greg, Michelle, Lauren, Eric, Chris and Jason, I was so very saddened to hear of Donna’s passing. Donna was a wonderful co worker boss and friend and I was always happy when Magda, Ann, Donna C, Patty and I could have lunch with Donna in Cambridge. We were just waiting till we could safely visit again but unfortunately covid overtook our lives. I am so sorry for your loss, we will all miss her, she was such a fighter and we never heard her complain once. She always told us about her wonderful Family times and how proud she was of all of you. We 5 are having lunch in Donna’s honour at Loondocks (formally The Supreme which she loved) this month and we know she will be with us in spirit. With Love and Sympathy, Kerry

I am very sorry to hear of Donna's passing. I remember her well from my BMO days in Burlington, and always had deep respect for her work ethic and professionalism. She was a very kind and caring lady, loved her family and friends, and was an important member of the team. My deepest sympathies to all of her family.

I had the privilege of working with Donna at the Bank of Montreal in Burlington in the mid to late 80’s and, to this very day, still have such wonderful memories of her not only as a exceptional staff member but as a truly exceptional woman. As a newly appointed Branch Manager, I immediately recognized that Donna, having recently experienced the loss of her loving husband, (who, ironically, I worked with for a short period of time at BMO’s Headquarters in Toronto), would be an absolutely perfect addition to the team. That decision led to the development of a relationship filled with countless special memories. The respect I had for Donna remained imbedded in my heart long after I returned to Toronto Headquarters. I will treasure those memories and the memories of shared gatherings with her boys. Donna, my friend, Rest In Peace.
