I had the pleasure of visiting Phyllis since I am staying next to Amica . She has been our family friend in Kampala, and stayed with us when she moved to Kampala,
We enjoyed her company and her sense of Humor. She met Theo and used to meet him at Paul’s Bar which was very close to our house in Kampala. She was an excellent cook. I will miss her presence. May her soul rest in peace. My sympathies to all her children and family.

Dearest Jude, Thomas, Susan, Rita and Ian,

Her love, persistence and laughter, touched Meena (R.I.P) and self

I will never forget her protection of travelling from our Bangalore school to Goa with me, her children and other boarders.

Jude, Rita, Thomas, Susan, Ian and families, we are so sorry for your loss. Our parents were very good friends that is how Aunty Phyllis became my godmother. She was a graceful and spunky lady, living life to the fullest. I remember her red sports car in Kampala that she would drive around in. When she first got the car, she came to visit us and took me for spin when I was about 10 years old. I was in awe of her confidence, her style and grace. The memories we shared in Kampala spending time together with both Aunty Phyllis and Uncle Theo, and then here in Canada will be forever cherished. Rest in peace, my dear Aunty Phyllis. I hope you are reuniting with Uncle Theo and my dad Bento, who I am sure will be happy to see you.

Our deepest sympathy and condolences to Jude, Rita, Thomas, Susan, Ian and families. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, as you mourn the loss of your dear mother. Phyllis was a beautiful woman, a beautiful person with a great sense of humour. Our families shared friendship and great times together while we lived in Kampala, Uganda. Phyllis was always lively and cheerful at our "family" gatherings! If I close my eyes, I can picture Phyllis and hear her laughter (which was contagious!); I can hear Phyllis/Theo and my parents, as they laughed and shared good times together. The DeSouza families shared good times together: at the Equator, on our way to Lake Nabugabo and at our home in Kampala. The good times continued in Toronto, Canada: my parents (James & Anna DeSouza) visited in 1997; fun times at Susan and David's home in 2011,

I last remember seeing Phyllis at Rita's home for Carolyn's Baby Shower. I gave her a ride home and we had lots of laughs! Phyllis lived life to the fullest and surely was a social butterfly.
