Obituary of Phyllis De Souza

PHYLLIS (Monteiro) De Souza

(May 25, 1924 – March 2, 2024)

Phyllis passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 2, 2024, just shy of her 100th birthday, at Amica City Center in Mississauga.

Predeceased by her loving husband Theo De Souza. Beloved and cherished mother, of Jude (Maria), Rita (Chris), Thomas, Susan (David) and Ian (Louise).  Proud Nana of David (Carolyn), Sherri (Derek), Julius, Nigel, Keegan and Angelica.  Super proud big Nana to Sophia, Mya and Zoey.   Phyllis is survived by her sister Alice (late Joe), and her brother Julius (late Tina) both of London, England.  She will be dearly missed by many nieces and nephews.

Born in Saligoa, Goa.  Phyllis was a social butterfly.  She loved entertaining, travelling and especially spending time with her family.  She had an amazing ability to make friends wherever she went.  We will miss her kind heart, her fabulous cooking and willingness to always help and be present.

Phyllis was a devout Catholic and her faith was deeply rooted.  She was extremely proud of her family and she leaves behind a tremendous number of stories and beautiful memories for us all to cherish.

We appreciate all the wonderful help and loving care provided by the staff at Amica (assisted living) who made her stay over the past many years comfortable.

Memorial Mass: St. Andrew's Catholic Church, 47 Reynolds St, Oakville, Ont. L6J-3J on Friday, April 5th, 10:30 am followed by a reception.
