David Humiski was the most fun mentor an intern could ever wish for. He’d phone and leave silly messages. He loved talking about the ‘92 Jays. He always answered frantic calls, e-mails, texts (ranging from “how do I cover this story?” to “the event starts in 10 minutes—where do I park?” to “should I take this job?”). He bragged about his beloved Maxine all the time. David signed notes with “peace/love,” and was floored to learn how he’s impacted my life.
Rest In Peace, David. Thank you for everything.
Maxine, I’m so grateful for the time we had in hospice and at your home last summer. Wishing you, Richard, Katherine, and everyone who loved David good courage in the days ahead.

Rest In Peace David Humiski. You left us with a huge hole in our hearts and many years of treasured memories. Crawford Street will never be the same dear friend. It was an honour and a pleasure to have celebrated your 65th birthday with you.
