Obituary of Suresh Kant Bhatnagar

Obituary of Suresh (Sam) Kant Bhatnagar (May 16, 1949 to February 8, 2021)

It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Suresh “Sam” Kant Bhatnagar on February 8, 2021 at the age of 71. After a long, courageous battle with COVID-19 at the Toronto Western Hospital, he passed away in a peaceful deep sleep with his son Ashish by his side.

He is survived by his wife Deepshika and his three children Deepa, Ashish and Rupa. He is a grandfather to Simran, Amrita and Arjun. Father-in-law to Taran and Pritesh. Brother to Ramesh, Manju, Ajay and Purnima.

Suresh was born on May 16, 1949, in New Delhi, India. He was a responsible, dedicated son to his father Laxman Bhatnagar and his mother Raj Bhatnagar, and was a protective older brother and a good friend. He completed a BSc from Hindu College University of Delhi. He is known for his incredible work ethic and his pursuit of a variety of occupations (Real Estate Broker and a successful Entrepreneur).

In 1982, Suresh immigrated to Toronto, Canada with his children. Being a single father, he was hard working and went above and beyond to lovingly fulfil his duties. Through the hardship he faced, he tackled these obstacles with courage and strength.

Suresh loved to travel with his wife, his children and his friends. His love of travelling took him all over the world, to the Carribean, Germany, Asia (Thailand, China), Turks and Caicos, Afghanistan and all over India. His wife and children fondly remember the trips to the beach, the regular day trips, the picnics and the restaurants they enjoyed with him. He was passionate about cooking and loved to create his own recipes and recently was in the process of creating a social community group for seniors in Toronto.

We will remember you for your enthusiasm for life, your smile, your curiosity to learn new things, your logical approach and your genuine laugh which lightened our hearts. You touched us with your selfless nature, your love, generosity, your humour and your caring approach. You went above and beyond to help all of your loved ones and encouraged us to fulfil our dreams. To lose you brings us immense pain beyond belief, and although you have left this world, you will always remain in our hearts and in our memories. Wherever you are we wish you eternal peace. We loved you then, we love you now and we will always love you.

In lieu of flowers, we ask you to please make donations to the Toronto Western Hospital Foundation by using the Donations tab on his home page or donate by planting a tree in his name by clicking on "Plant A Tree For Suresh Bhatnagar" button. Suresh cared for nature and the environment and loved being outside.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at the Toronto Western Hospital for their care and compassion to Suresh.
